Do I need to have a Paypal account to get cash rewards?

No. Using PayPal is optional. You have other options for cashing out your MyOpinions rewards, including points transfer. You can transfer your rewards to RewardsCentral, where you can cash out for a cheque, or have your cash deposited directly into your bank account. Please note that when withdrawing funds from your PayPal account to your bank account, PayPal may charge a fee.

How do I cash out my rewards via PayPal?

The minimum cash out amount is 6,000 reward points.

To ensure you receive your PayPal cash out, it's very important to follow these steps exactly:

  1. Check that your email address registered in MyOpinions is also registered as one of your email addresses in your PayPal account. You can have more than one email address registered in PayPal, so if necessary just add the email address to your PayPal account. Make sure that you confirm the email address in PayPal.
  2. Visit the PayPal Payment page, select either $50 cash out or $100 cash out, then submit your request and follow any further instructions.
  3. Processing of your request can take between 5 weeks and 8 weeks. You can check the status of your request in the history section at the bottom of the MyOpinions PayPal Payment page.
  4. When payment is sent to your PayPal account, PayPal will send you a notification email. Be sure to check your email regularly. Also ensure that PayPal notification emails are not being flagged as junk mail incorrectly. If in doubt, sign in to your PayPal account to check if you have received any payments.

What if my PayPal email address is different to my MyOpinions email address?

PayPal gives you the option to add email addresses to your PayPal account. This allows you to accept payments via any email address you own, and all payments will go into your single PayPal account.

Therefore, if the email address you have registered in MyOpinions is not a registered email address in your PayPal account, all you have to do is add it.

To add an email address to your PayPal account:
  1. Sign in to your PayPal account;
  2. On the main menu, select My Account > Profile > Add or Edit Email;
  3. Click the Add button;
  4. Enter the email address you wish to add to your PayPal account (the email address registered in MyOpinions) and click Save;
  5. PayPal will send a confirmation email to you. Click on the confirmation link within the email;
  6. Enter your PayPal password and click Confirm.

Why haven't I received my PayPal payment yet?

If you have requested a payment of your rewards by PayPal but have not yet received the money, there are a number of possible reasons:

  • Waiting period
    Request Status: Pending or Approved
    There is a mandatory waiting period of 4 weeks. This means it may take between 5 and 8 weeks from the time you request payment, until the time you receive payment. Please have patience.
  • Email address not registered to your account
    Request Status: Sent
    After the MyOpinions mandatory waiting period, the request status in the history section of the MyOpinions PayPal Payment page will be shown as "Sent". However if the payment was sent to an email address of yours that is not registered to your PayPal account, then you must claim the payment. PayPal will send you an email notification of the payment. You must follow the instructions in this email in order to claim the payment. If you have not received this email notification from PayPal, be sure to check your junk mail folder.

    If you have registered an email address in your PayPal account but have not confirmed that email address, you will not be able to claim/receive payments to that email address. Make sure you confirm the email address by following the instructions in the Profile > Add or Edit Email section of the PayPal web site.
  • Payment error
    Request Status: Error
    This means that the payment has been rejected by PayPal, because the email address you have supplied to us is not a valid PayPal account, or because the payment was not claimed within 30 days.

    Please note an administration fee of 200 reward points will be charged to your MyOpinions account if a payment you request is rejected by PayPal.


    If you would like your payment re-issued, please confirm that your payment status shows as "Error", then contact MyOpinions. Please note that MyOpinions can only re-issue a payment if the transfer has been rejected by PayPal. This may require an additional waiting period of 60 days.
  • Payment sent to wrong account
    Request Status: Sent
    If the request status shows as "Sent", your PayPal account email address has been confirmed, and the payment does not appear in your PayPal account for you to claim, then it is possible that the email address you have supplied to us is wrong. If the funds have been sent to the wrong PayPal account and have been claimed by someone else, then unfortunately the funds are lost and you have no recourse.
